In the Living the Story Residency and Ancient Future Lab you have the opportunity to step into a role of citizen scientist and nurture and nourish your story with research coming alive into art, story, dreams, ceremony, music and/or performance.

Here to enrich your own research and learning process.

We invite you into the role of researcher to explore:

  • your own ancestral lineages and memories to reclaim a stronger earth-based identity and orientation.

  • the oral history and mythology woven into the lands you were raised in, visit, or live in and how that shapes your knowing.

  • another culture and territory and recording your personal experience and learning through all your senses.

The Living Story and Ancient Future Lab Pilot Program invites active participation, engagement and co-creation with life.

 
 

To live the story is to explore who you are, where you come from, and where you can go next. Through the living research methodology.we engage with all our senses to listen, learn, immerse in experiences, and create. Within this residency and lab you are invited to contribute a final piece through a medium or, mix of mediums of your choice, in collaboration with your territory, web of relations and ancestral understanding.

    1. Community Opening Ceremony. Your personal Research and Story Focus and Plan.

    2. Ancestral Orientation, Land Awareness and Web of Relations.

    3. Exploring Ethical and Decolonial Research and Story Methodologies.

    4. Living Story Examples and Exploration. What is our Ancient Future?

    5. Creative Mediums and Updates.

    6. Presentation and Celebration with Community Closing Ceremony.

  • During this residency we invite you into the role of citizen scientist to research and learn about your story. Including where you come from (territory and ancestry) where you are located, and what community and web of relations you are part of.

    Through this exploration the aim is to better ‘live’ and tell your story in collaboration with the Earth, all your Senses, and Spirit.

    Note: we connect to Spirit and the ceremony of research with an earth-based animate understanding.

    The lab is the creative space to take part in telling your story.

    This residency and lab requires active participation, engagement and co-creation with life.

    You will choose a focus for the duration of this process (that may adapt and evolve) and you will share your completion and presentation of your creative work in the last call.

    We may interview you and publish your work as a member of the Residency and Lab with our community.

    This is an online residency and lab with the invitation to join an in-person experience once completed.

    You will each have a 1:1 call for a personal check-in during the 6 months with one of our team.

    We have an online forum to share in community.

Residency Outcomes:

  • Explore your deep-time story by stepping into the role of a citizen scientist to understand your past, present and future.

  • Deepen your ways of knowing, learning and connecting with the world around you and your relational web.

  • Develop methods for accessing ancestral memory, work with living story and/or travel well to learn with other cultures.

  • Create with the medium of your choice: art, writing, film, music and/or performance.

  • Understand the importance of decolonization, and of developing a relationship to your own ancestral earth-based identity.

  • Connect to land, living memory and community for renewed hope and vitality.
