Journey by river with us for the Dream Time Retreat.
Dream your your past, present and future living story through the practice of dreaming in the jungle. Join us as we travel 1hour by long-boat up-river, a journey outside of time, to stay at the incredible female-led indigenous community Stibrawpa ‘the people of craft’, deep in the Talamanca jungle, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica.
Includes Bri Bri cacao, a sacred waterfall visit, indigenous crafts, storytelling offerings, and dream circles, preparation and guidance with founder Hannah Ruth Dyson.
'I never expected to feel in only 3 days, such big shifts in my mind and body… 3 days learning from brave, kind, loving woman and men who work and live together in a beautiful example of community supported by their love for Sibu, the name they use for a God that lives in every tree and every expression of nature, the sun, the river the flowers, animals, all are brothers and sisters. I’m so grateful for this experience… and already dreaming of returning soon…’
— Andrea Rojas (Call of the Hummingbird Retreat)
Stibrawpa -Yorkin-Talamanca
Guided by a river we journey 1 hour by longboat to Stibrawpa in Yorkin deep in the Talamanca jungle. An indigenous Bri Bti female-led community founded on 3 principles:
Honor their roles as Earth Custodians.
Protect the Bri Bri Spirit, Language and Culture.
Work with a Good Economy.
80% of the food is grown on the land organically and the men sign a pledge to respect women when they join the Stibrawpa organization. In just 2 generations the health, wealth and indigenous spirit, language and matriarchal culture has been reclaimed and restored as an example for the world.
Morning dream circles, daily river swims, exploring your living story, while immersing in the community of Stibrawpa with daily cacao, organic food, storytelling, herbal garden walks, crafts and jungle hikes. Evening song and seeding dreams.
Step into the Living Library with us.
We each have a living story and experience of the world worth sharing. As the last living libraries in the form of elders and wisdom keepers are with us on Earth, we are here to revitalize this process of record keeping through dreaming, ceremony, songlines and oral tradition, alongside a modern archive. This is an invitation for us all to step in as custodians and guardians of memory in territories of wisdom for our thriving future.
We invite you into the role of researcher to explore:
your own earth-based lineages to restore a sense of belonging and roots within this Earth.
the oral history and mythology woven into the lands you were raised in, visit, or live in and how that shapes your knowing and navigation.
visiting another culture and territory, recording your personal experience and learning through all your senses as we weave in cultural exchange.

The Experience
Deepen your ways of immersing, learning and connecting with life through dreaming.
We prepare with our Research with Dreams course before the journey. In person, we prepare with daily seeding dreams together. Alongside morning dream circles.
We are entering into the Stibrawpa community with daily organic food, river swims, and learning about their incredible story of reclaiming matriachal leadership. Alongside learning about their crafts, archery, cacao and plants.
We will make a special journey to a sacred waterfall and pool in the jungle (crossing into Panama side) 1 hr hike.
Visit the sacred Usuré Ceremonial Cosmic House.
We have a small team of Storytelling Ambassadors who are helping to tell the Stibrawpa story & you get to take part — we will be taking this to an Exhibition tour starting in Costa Rica.
You support the Stibrawpa Knowledge Keeper Grants for young community members to strengthen their indigenous knowledge and continued cultural exchange. As they work to strengthen their bridge to the Elders who hold the most sacred knowledge higher in the mountains.
“Journeying to Stibrawpa is like a journey into another time – or perhaps another timeline, one in which we kept the traditions of living in deep connection with the earth and all her people. The nature is alive there – the jungle speaks loudly, the river embraces sweetly, and the cacao is generous and wise. The heart of Soul Seed for me is about self-discovery as we remember another way of being, in touch with deep feminine wisdom that has been largely forgotten – and yet there is a part of us that still knows, and longs to come home again. It is a nourishing, inspiring, harmonizing and enlightening journey.”

“The dreams course with Hannah & Soul Seed Gathering was beautiful, stirring and inspiring. An extensive mix of dreamy academia drawing upon current living dream cultures while also acknowledging each of our own live and very real dreaming abilities which led us to reflections on our lineages, guidance, and magic being gifted through the subtle - articulating and sharing in the group was wildly powerful and really grounded insights into the now rather than remaining as slurred ink on a page. It was a truly expansive, humbling, rich and hopeful experience of reclamation and remembrance. Hannah is a gifted communicator, dreamer and teacher weaving threads through and beyond place and time with prompts that invite creative exploration of what is possible through working with our dreams and what is being asked of us at this time - and I know she has so much more to offer on this subject! A very unique offering for exploration of this kind.”

We recommend you fly into San Jose (SJO) at least 1 or 2 days ahead to journey to Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica for your early morning pick-up on the 6th of June.
There are 4 main options from San Jose to travel to Puerto Viejo:
Caribe Shuttle (leaving 5:30 am to arrive at 10:30am or, 2pm to arrive 7pm) - they can pick you up from the airport or your San Jose accommodation (https://www.caribeshuttle.com/)
Domestic Flight to Limon and then taxi to Puerto Viejo (https://www.flysansa.com/en)
Private taxi or shuttle from San Jose to Puerto Viejo (we can help organize from our community forum)
Public Bus (this option is the cheapest but can be difficult to navigate if it’s your first time visiting (here is a guide - https://www.puertoviejosatellite.com/en/bus-to-puerto-viejo/)
Also it goes without saying how beautiful the Caribbean coast is to spend some days either side if you have the possibility.
If there are enough requests we can help organize a group villa for integration time post-journey.

The Stibrawpa accommodation is simple wooden houses with beds, bedding and mosquito nets.
The luxury is in experiencing hospitality from such a genuine care and love for welcoming you there.
The Stibrawpa community holds such a loving pride for what they have created and built and have so much wisdom to share from the experience.
The community itself is off-grid, however the village of Yorkin has power (so you can charge any devices), while still enjoying the peace of time away from them.
The food offered is 80% from their land and grown organically which they take a great pride in also.
They can honor vegan, vegetarian or offer meat (chicken from their land).

WhIle Bernarda founded this organization, she is the first to say it’s not about her or her story but the shared community.
However, her story is remarkable and while her husband Eliodoro so lovingly supported her and the community from the beginning, they received a lot of push back from the men initially.
The women wisely focused on their children, the next generation and now several decades later have a thriving organization with men and women involved.
The men have far better wages and conditions compared to the work they had previously on the banana plantations and proudly speak of how they now trust the women in leadership.
Each year a new female president is voted in and young women and prepared for different organizational roles.

We offer the Research with Dreams course to support your preparation process. This is such a beautiful journey and experience that you don’t need to have any prior experience of profound dreams to begin.
Our time together will be a simple routine of rising each morning in silence & joining a circle to communicate any dreams that may be remembered. Each evening, we will prepare to dream together.
Firstly, staying deep in the jungle away from our devices, secondly the community intention and, thirdly, our own intentions all support this process.
The journey to Stibrawpa, and the days spent there will start to feel dreamlike and, support you in feeling all the possibilities and dreams for your life and and this world, from this experience..
